KettleHELL ….. and back

This Tuesday just gone, I trotted into the studios with a springy step, I had a little bit of confidence about me, maybe it was the fact that it my weekly time out from the kids, who knows. But on arrival I became only too fully aware of how desperate I am for some new gym wear! It’s terrible really, Tiffany has got plenty on offer from her range in the SXEfit store, yet I was stood there wearing some old grey leggings (complete with bobbly bits from the wash) and I had borrowed one of the other halfs gym T­shirts that not even he wears (it was given to him as a freebie from a shop who were trying to promote their protein powder) So based on this information you can imagine how well kitted out I am in the gym department! I’m due some SXEfit leggings and a nice top! I’m not yet confident enough for the hotpants….. But no! that was still not enough to dampen my spirits. When I got up to the studio there was a space at the front of class and like a teacher’s little pet I marched on up there! What a little trooper I was! I’ll just explain that this was my third Kettlebell (Kettlehell as we like to say at SXEfit) class in a row, so I pretty much thought to myself ‘It’s OK Kim, YOU GOT THIS’ I had done everything I thought possible to get me through the class, my water bottle was full, I was in the zone and I had arrived early enough to get one of the 4kg kettlebells, unlike the week previous when I had a 6kg and thought that Lucifer himself had taken my soul the next day! The thing about the Kettlebell class is that you really do feel for two day (three for me) afterwards that the workout is still having an effect. I think this is the class to be at if your wanting to really tone! What happened next is simple really, Tiffany turned into Lucifer herself. I was not expecting that routine. My trip to the front of the class turned out to be a bit of a presumptuous move of mine. I am now fully aware that at SXEfit you should always be prepared for new surprises. This particular class I had to really dig deep, and when I say deep, I mean you could of probably found me in a cabin on the Titanic. With concoctions of press ups and burpees (as pointed out in class not to be mixed up with herpes, which sounds the same and are probably just as bad) and Jumping Kettlebell squats. I longingly looked back to the spot that I would of chosen if I had’nt opted for the limelight. Only to realise that that particular spot was next to one of the girls Jo, who seemed to have the jumping squats to a T. I would looked like an overturned woodlice next to Jo so it was probably for the best I was where I was after all! Like I have just mentioned, if toning is what you are after, I suggest you get yourself to this class! The class requires a kettlebell and a mat for each participant, both supplied by SXEfit….. which is just as well really as the only piece of workout equipment I have at home are my stairs, unless you count my partners weights, but the only thing I have ever done with them is stub my toe (I had bruises) Once you have come to a couple of classes you will get into the swing of the warm ups too. When I first started coming to the SXEfit classes I thought that I might just call it quits after the warm up as they are as intense at the Nando’s hotest Peri Peri sauce, but you learn to love them (a bit like your menstrual cycle after you and your partner had one too many date nights in one month)
After the warm up, Tiffany takes you through a series of workouts that work specific parts of the body! She even has one for chopping off back fat, which for me gives me faith that maybe I could wear backless again in the future…. I thought I would have to put those days behind me when I caught a glimpse of myself in underwear the other day! In Fact I actually believe if you ask Tiffany (nicely, you don’t want Lucifer to come out) if she could incorporate workouts for specific areas of the body, she would gladly put you through your paces with your particular ‘area of interest’. I would not say it if I didn’t feel it, but as hard and harsh as the workouts are, You could approach Tiffany with any body image niggle you have, and she would do her utmost to help you work on it (even though you will feel it for 2­3 days later) I believe that her clients the same as myself do feel valued and part of the SXEfit team and you know she looks after you, even though it doesn’t feel like it at the time! After you are put through your paces, your kindly given a stretch out, where you can release all the tensions and walk it out…. In my case dawdle it out. So, I’m sure you can’t wait to join in! whether its hotpants, backless, sleeveless or hell even topless you want to achieve, this class will sort it out!
