So, I think each one of my Sxefit Machines can agree, they do not have any

intentions of becoming a body builder, and neither do I.

However, I am finding that a lot of women are taking the same approach to dieting as

what bodybuilders do and I just want to take the time to address the issues that this

can cause on the body.

I am sure we all agree, a bodybuilders tone and muscle although it is amazing, it is

so far from natural.

Do not get me wrong, some body builders do achieve that physique naturally and all

power to them, its hard work and dedication.

However, quite a lot of body builders will also take additional supplements and

steroids to achieve ‘the look’.

Now overall is this healthy.

If achieved naturally, body builders are generally healthy, yes. If achieved via

supplements and steroids, then no, not healthy.

Naturally achieved body builders have a lot of lean and toned muscle which is

beneficial for the body and functioning of the body.

However, the process of achieving this is where it can get a little sticky. The

continuous weightlifting puts the body under strain and can result in some fatal

injuries such as aortic tears. It can also cause muscle tears, joint dislocation, back

and hip strains, and frequent bursting of blood vessels.

Not only this, but body builders also follow an extremely strict diet. They will often

sacrifice calories to increase protein.

What is protein for ladies?

GROWTH AND REPAIR!!

What are calories for?

ENERGY!!

So, they are basically cutting out their energy supply to push their muscle growth

which in the long run results in them feeling exhausted, lacking in energy, and

resulting in their bodies becoming more susceptible to falling unwell, abnormally low

blood pressure, heart rhythm problems, hair loss, brittle fingernails, trouble

concentrating, loss of coordination, decreased muscular strength and/or anemia.

Whilst reducing calories and increasing protein does benefit muscle growth and tone,

it also means that you are cutting out all of the other vitamins, minerals, and nutrients

that the body requires to maintain health and overall well-being.

Ever wonder why you see so many body builders going a bit crazy?

On top of that a massive amount of body builders have body dysmorphia. How could

you not when your job is to focus on any or every so called ‘flaw’ of your body.

Now I know you do not want to be a body builder, and I am not sharing this with you

for that reason.

What I want you to notice is that women often get themselves into the ‘Body Builder

Mindset’, where you will cut things from your diet such as fats, carbs, or you will

dramatically reduce your calorie intake. Failing that, you will have a few weeks of

working out excessively and putting your body under strain.

Do you see where I am going with this?

It is practically ingrained into every woman to either hate or have an issue with how

her body looks. When you get into the mindset of identifying every ‘flaw’ you are

running the risk of body dysmorphia if you are not already there.

We are not body builders. We are not all the same shape. We are all individual. We

all have our own body type. No two people are the same. We are all beautiful in our

own way. Perfection does not exist.

LET GO OF THE BODY BUILDER MINDSET.

You know me, I will empower any person to make improvements to themselves for

themselves, but I am a firm believer in this needs to be done in the correct way and

with healthy diet and consistent exercise.

Just before I end this little blog, I have a challenge for all you women!

Walk to a mirror, strip down to your underwear, look at yourself, now compliment

yourself.

Your body is an amazing temple, treat it as such and be kind to your mind, you

manifest what you become, choose greatness.
